I think designing a book is like building a fine home. The designer plays an integral part in creating something that will last for possibly hundreds of years. Because of this, great care and attention is paid to the design and process so that the final result is flawless and beautiful.
The art books seen here are published by The Artist Book Foundation.
A logo can be purely graphic using an icon or it can use type for spelling out the name of your business and often, a combination of both. Either way, the logo becomes recognizable over time as your business's personality. Designing a logo requires good listening skills on the part of the designer so that the final logo reflects the business in the best way possible. It is also important to consider the end uses for the logo when designing. So many things to think about…here are some of the logos that I've designed.
A marketing brochure continues speaking for your business when you're not there. It should reflect the image you want to put forth and be full of information that is easily found and read. I've designed many brochures over the years. I find it's like putting the pieces of a puzzle together so that the finished piece creates a solution that communicates and sells. Let's work together to make your brochure work for you.
In this digital age, there are still printed newsletters. Staying within brand is very important when creating a newsletter. It's also important to make the newsletter look different enough each time that the viewer doesn't think they've seen it before. Just another fun puzzle to solve, which I love to do.
Creating a catalogue is a challenge I enjoy. The finished product needs to be a positive experience for the end-user as well as get all the information and advertising in a certain number of pages in order to stay in budget.
Special events need "special" marketing materials to set the tone so that people will be excited about replying to the request. I've worked with not-for-profit groups, schools, businesses as well as individuals to help each of them create a successful event. We start by creating a unique identity and this is carried through on all the materials necessary to market the event as well as to carry the brand into the event with signage and decorations. Success starts with the planning stage.
In this digital world you can send your information out in an email blast or post to a page on social media, but it's still nice to have a printed poster that has the potential to be seen by a wide range of people you don't necessarily know or don't have access to technology.
A poster needs to grab the viewers attention in mere seconds. It needs to communicate its message in less than 30 seconds. The poster needs to be easy to read and contain all the important information so people can learn about your event.
Sometimes someone needs a special something and knows who to call. I was honored to create this one of a kind birthday book with illustrations and love infused.
Relatively new to the world of Surface Design, I feel it's a good fit because I am combining my artistic flair and my tech skills. With surface design, I can be creative in a new way and my art work can reach new markets.
